Investment Associate (Intern)

 We now have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Investment Associate to join our team and support the Head of Investments in the development and delivery of the Investment team’s objectives.

 

The key responsibilities of the role include:

 

  • Generating investment leads by attending events and researching startups within the Irish 3rd level ecosystem

  • Analysing top seed accelerators from around the world with the aim to replicate and implement best practices

  • Researching competitors, markets and the latest trends related to our summer 18’ startups

  • Conceptualising and delivering partner integration events and workshops for the coming year

  • Organise weekly updates from all startups in the programme

 

 

The successful candidate will be enrolled in a business, economics or relevant science degree (or equivalent). They will ideally have experience of working with startups or be entrepreneurial themselves. They will also possess enthusiasm, positivity and an appetite for early stage investment with the University ecosystem.

 

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate proven competence in the following:

 

  • Early stage investment – a good knowledge base of the early stage investment market and the challenges faced by University-led companies.

  • Communicating with others - excellent interpersonal skills and very strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing and with a wide range of people and organisations.

  • Relationship with others – the ability to contribute to the newly formed OUI Investments team. To be able to either work independently or as part of a small team.

  • Data management - effectively managing data and possession of high levels of attention to detail in all areas of their work.

  • Self-starter – the ability to use your initiative to find solutions to problems and come to a positive resolution.

  • Commercial analysis - making considered decisions that demonstrate sound judgement and good analysis.
